Little Miami High School is running some sort of optional summer class that meets 12 times during the summer.  They will be spending one of those days from 8:30 to 12:30 on Thursday, 6/5/08 at Gulley Park to learn about and play disc golf.  There will be 40 - 60 kids, so it would be nice to get at least a handful of golfers out there to help with instruction.

This is just in time to get some practice in for the Gulley Open, so please come out and help if you can.  Post here if you can make it.

40 - 60 kids.  I really don't want to do this alone.  I'm accepting anyone, even smokers wink

Any other takers? I think this will be a good time. I'm planning on shortening up the tees a little to keep people out of the rough, and playing two rounds. It would be nice to have a couple more "professional disc golf instructors". Thursday next week, 8:30 to 12:30 at Gulley.

FattyJ is in. I think my nickname might be inappropriate for High School kids so on Thursday I will go by the nickname "The Professor".  laugh

Nick E, Dave H, Matt B, Professor Fatty J, and Steve Mahl all helped out this morning. Thanks guys. Things went pretty well except for the tall grass on #2, #3, #4 claimed some discs. The PE teacher was impressed and wants to do it again in the following years. The kids had fun despite the swampy conditions and weeds.

We're doing this again - Tomorrow 6/20/08! Sorry for the late notice. Only 25 kids this time of the same age group (High School). If anyone would like to come out and help, let me know. 8:30 to 12:30 again. Thanks.

Thanks anyways guys. With Matt B and Alex and only 25 kids, we should be fine. Maybe they've even mowed out there, but I'm not counting on it.

Ok Marc, will do. They are done for this year, but they plan to do two more outings next year. It went really well today. We had enough adults to equal groups of kids, so we got to play a round with a group instead of just hanging out and directing traffic and finding discs. Then a ring of fire, CTP's, and distance contest.
