I hit a weekly doubles league at Fairfield Park in Round Lake IL (Chicago suburb) this past Saturday while up there for a wedding. Its a good course that's a combination of Harbin out in the open with about 6 holes that are back in the woods and similar to the tight holes at veterans. It has dirt tee pads; but the soil up there is different and packs down quite well. Hole 18 is about 850 and is apparently the longest hole in Illinois. One area is a swamp that eats discs from two different holes all day long.
Overall, I'd say its a pretty good course. They use what elevation there is quite well and the players up there were all quite friendly.
If you're ever up there, doubles are every saturday at 11:00 am for 6 bucks. 13 down won in case anyone is curious.
