What is the format for this? Are both rounds best disc, or is there an alternate throw?

in the second round if you throw backhand your partner has to throw sidearm (and vice versa)
just kidding! ... but has that ever been done?

I'm sorry, both rounds are best disc.

Other formats were tried in the past, but this seems to be enjoyable for all.

Deadline for registration is 10pm Thursday night.

Well im not sure who Holingshead, but it doeasnt sound like to much fun playing agaisnt Ferrera. So that could be a big reason why there are a good group of intermediates and only one team in Advanced...

That Hollingshead guy sucks.  He only throws about 300 ft with a Destroyer.  Hopefully Ferrara will carry him.

If Ty Farina ever gets in touch with me we will be in advanced vs the old man and the Hollingshead guy. And, if the only reason you play in tournaments is to win then rec is the division for you- chickens!  BTW Rob J yes the format of no consecutive throws in the same style has been tried in the doubles format which made for some interesting putts to say the least.

That other Hollingshead guy that sucks (but CAN throw a Destroyer over 300) and Steve "Rodeo" Spencer are now signed up in advanced.

As of right now, your choice of an Innova Disc from The Nati Disc Golf.

I'm still working for other stuff, however I'm finding times are tight and budgets are strapped, we'll see what happens.

Still hoping to put on a good event with the course back in shape.

Thanks so much to all the teams that have preregistered!!  The list grew again today.

Only 24 hours left to register for one of the seven team spots left.
I will be out working on the course tomorrow evening, you can register with me or register at www.IdlewildDiscGolf.com before 10pm Thursday night.

Fred will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday, he's turning...old.  Anyone that was around for KY Singles is aware that Fred likes to share some food and beverage after the second round and I hear he will be doing something of the sort at doubles.

Big intermediate field for Kentucky State Doubles, however the advanced and open field just added a couple.

Don't look now, but Cox/Vandemark just got in under the cover of darkness, just like Dave did in singles.  So sly.

Will we see Horne/Schick?  Hello?

Kevin,
Jason Gabbard and John Rabago said they talked to Fred one day last week and he said he was going to register them in Intermediate and they would pay him Friday 9/26. Jason has already signed up for the PDGA and John was going to do that with Fred at the tourney. They are concerned they aren't in and thought they were already. Any knowledge of this?  I've got John's # here so I can contact him. Let me know.  - Dan

The field for the 2008 Kentucky State Doubles at Idlewild Disc Golf Course is set.

We really appreciate everyone preregistering for this event.  It goes a long way to help us run smoothly and stay on time Saturday morning.

Again, thanks to all the teams, sponsors and those that have worked getting the course back in shape.

We look forward to seeing y'all on Saturday morning.

There will be an added temp hole to Idlewild for the Kentucky State Doubles.

The hole plays between two and three, with a drive across the pond. After putting out on the long basket of two, follow the cut grass path, above the basket on the hill, to the painted tee line. The basket will be across the pond, towards the shelter, between the big and small tree on the side of the hill. A few of us threw the shot tonight, it's sporty.

I believe Fred will have a basket out there tomorrow evening for practice rounds.
