Kenton County Parks & Recreation hosted the eighth High School Disc Golf Championships at Lincoln Ridge (formerly Banklick Woods) on Saturday, May 8.   A total of 15 players participated (down from 53 in ’09).   Team Championship scores are determined by each school's five best individual scores.   The Boys Team Championship traveling trophy was won by Anderson (OH) with a Team score of 630. Congratulations to the members of Anderson High School's championship team: Will McKenzie (T-5), Sam Peterson (9), Chris Matre (10), Scott Rosenberry (11), and Tyler Hugenberg (12). The HSDGC Boys Team Championship record remains at 581 and is shared by two schools: St. Xavier (OH) in 2006 and Anderson (OH) in 2005.   1st Place Team and 8th HSDGC Champions ~ Anderson (OH) ~ 630 2nd Place Team ~ Fairfield (OH) ~ 665   In Individual Championship play, now three-time HSDGC Individual Champion Shaun Fair (A Beka Academy) held off Billy Page (Fairfield) to win by one. Shaun’s tournament course record of 100, which he set in 2007 still stands but he was able to manage the course and conditions to shoot a pair of 52’s. 2nd and 3rd place trophies were won by Billy Page, Fairfield (OH), and Lance Fair (A Beka Academy), respectively.   Closest-to-the-Pin Prizes were donated by Dan Bayless, owner of Disc 'N Dat in Florence, KY. CTP's: Round 1 ~ #4 by Michael Sechrist; #14 Upper by Spencer Nunnelley; Round 2 ~ #8 by Jared Brumley; and #17 (temporary) by Spencer Nunnelley.
