The sun came out and so did the disc golfers, with an impressive turnout of 96 participants for the first Course Series Challenge of 2010! The course layout was modified to accommodate the large turnout resulting in two rounds consisting of 20 holes. We used the Harbin Pig layout + original 16 and 17 to make a 20 hole layout to accommodate 96 players. Mid 60's and occasional light breeze.
In the Open division, Scott Schmidt jumped out to an early lead in the first round and was able to fend off the crafty veteran Dave Cox, who came in second for the day and Jeremiah Krause rounded out the top three in Open. In the Open Masters, the lefty, Jeff Eades, took home first prize shooting a solid 113 on the day, with John Schengber and Fishnet Dave Gambrell coming in second and third respectively. In the advanced division, Big Billy Page rose to the top shooting a 116 on the day with Steve Cox taking second and Will Clark and Shaun Fair tied for third. In the Advanced masters division, Scott Miller shot a 127 to take first place while Tony Lampert and Mike Day tied for second place. In the Woman’s divisions, Rebecca Cox continues to improve on her game, coming in first in the Open division shooting a 143 on the day. In the Advanced Woman’s division, Tiffany Wildes took first shooting a 168 while Molly Smith took second in her first tournament event! It may have been Tiffany’s first tournament event too. In the Rec Division, Chris Corrado shot an impressive 126 ,taking the lead while Jared Brumley and Rodney Bronner completed the top three in the Rec division for the day. We greatly appreciate everyone coming out and hope you thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you out on the course for next month’s course challenge series event at AJ Jolly on April 17.
